Vaask, founded by its lead designer Jon Olsen, has created a unique touchless hand-sanitizing fixture that is the perfect answer for companies that prioritize hygiene while also keeping in mind sustainability.
Vaask, the project, has recently won the Construction Product Design – Others prize at the prestigious BLT Built Awards 2023. The win enhances Vaask’s visibility and ensures that all modern interiors can have hygiene covered while also boasting a sleek design.
The Vaask Project
The most common problem found with hand sanitisers is that 80% of people report finding them completely empty, which, in a post-pandemic world, couldn’t be more worrying.
As an answer to this anxiety-inducing problem, the company Vaask – whose name derives from the Norwegian word for ‘wash’ – offers a sophisticated solution that goes beyond the ordinary.
Vaask’s Features
- Cost-Effective. Powered by AC or power-over-ethernet, Vaask doesn’t need batteries, which reduces maintenance costs.
- Sustainable Design. Made with a cast aluminium construction with a 5-year warranty, the fixture reduces the need for frequent replacements.
- Personalization. Options for custom colours, metals and graphics, which make Vaask seamlessly blend with any space.
- Precision. Vaask’s PalmPilot sensor precisely detects hands and makes hand sanitization quick and efficient.
- Smart Alert System. The fixture comes with an app and online dashboard that notifies staff when it’s time to refill the hand sanitiser, saving companies up to 65% on monthly sanitiser costs.
- Versatile. The fixture can be installed in multiple ways, including recessed, wall-mounted, or freestanding.
Vaask’s creation aligns with the goals of sustainable-minded companies that strive to develop healthier public spaces by giving them a chance to replace disposable plastic bottles with durable, all-metal fixtures.
