Pets are part of the family in modern homes, but furniture hasn’t always kept up. Formiing Studio is changing that with the ROO, an armchair created for pet owners who value both design and their furry companions. It’s a chair that acknowledges the need for personal comfort while giving pets a place of their own.
A spot for every member of the family
The real intelligence of the ROO is in how it accommodates animals. The designers have carefully considered pet behavior when creating the chair. The seat is covered in a patented fabric that is eight times more durable than typical materials, making it resistant to scratches. The armrests are where the design truly shines. They include a dedicated cat-scratching area to draw cats away from other furniture and a comfortable resting spot for a dog to settle in. These armrests are also angled at a gentle 15 degrees, a thoughtful detail that provides comfort for resting human arms and lounging pets.
Not just for pets
While the ROO is a haven for animals, it doesn’t sacrifice human comfort. The chair features a soft, upholstered body with gently rounded contours that follow your body’s natural lines, offering great support whether you are sitting up or leaning back. The solid armrests give a feeling of stability and are perfect for propping up a book. Hidden storage compartments are built into the armrests for added practicality, providing a neat place to store toys and treats. The ROO also comes with quick-change covers, allowing you to update its style effortlessly. Optional extras like a heated pet pad and UV-sanitizing storage are available for those wanting even more.
Built to last
Formiing Studio selected top-notch materials for the ROO. The chair is upholstered in textiles from the respected company Kvadrat, including Hallingdal, a durable wool and viscose mix that is highly recommended for pet owners. A wooden structure is padded with polyurethane foam and soft polyester for lasting comfort. All the materials meet global safety standards and come with an “Eco Passport” that tracks their sustainability.
The thoughtful and practical nature of the ROO armchair has been recognized for its excellence. The design recently won a SIT Furniture Design award, confirming its status as a winning piece in the armchair category. More than just a piece of furniture, the ROO is a work of living art that helps deepen the connection between people and their pets.
