Unveiling a new duo of table and floor lamps: Gigi and Gigi Grand.
This collection is the result of a professional love affair between the Montreal-based studio Verre d’Onge and Studio d’Armes, two-time Archiproducts Award winners for their lighting design. This joint project combines expertise in glass and light, emerging from a creative process focused on pleasure and an exploration of their physical nature and sensory experience in space.
Both Gigi lamps, with their distinct dimensions, possess unique personalities. Gigi Grand exudes presence with its elegant geometry and refined details, while the smaller Gigi lamp is playful, expressing joy and softness.
In their quest to explore and redefine the classical glass lamp, Studio d’Armes and Verre d’Onge have pushed the limits of glass to create Gigi Grand, which boasts monumental dimensions within this art form. It stands in space as a beacon of glass and light.
The Gigi lamps invite discovery, revealing alternating opacity and transparency. As the glassblower breathes life into them, shades and tones permeate the material in a unique way each time, making each lamp an exclusive object.
With their high-quality lighting, the lamps emit illumination from bidirectional light engines, which can be dimmed to a warmer shade.
The Gigi collection was showcased at Archiproducts Milano as part of their new exhibition project called “Future Habit (at)”, presented during Milano Design Week 2021.
