Unveiled earlier in April to coincide with the release of the film promoting the 2026 Roland-Garros French Open tennis tournament, the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car is set to make its global premiere on May 18 on the Renault stand at the Porte d’Auteuil stadium.

Like the Renault 5 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric special edition, the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car uses a sport-inspired, tailored look. The bodywork is finished in Glacier White, with black side pillars and roof arches, silver trim on the front wings carrying the Roland-Garros symbol, and 18-inch black diamond-cut “Parisienne” wheels with a smoked varnish finish and terracotta brown centre caps. The front and rear bumper trims are also finished in terracotta brown.

“In this “sporty chic” interpretation, the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car extends the very atmosphere of the tournament through its choice of materials and colour. The opening canvas roof evokes the open sky above the courts, a roofless space where players breathe as freely as spectators.”

Design features at both front and rear

Inside, the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric has light grey front and rear seat trim made from fully recycled materials. The fabric uses a graphic weave that recalls technical sportswear, with open-weave details, especially in the “H” on the front seat backs. Blue textile covers the side bolsters and the armrest. The front seat backs are also heat-embossed with the Roland-Garros logo.

The front and rear door panels, along with the lower dashboard strip, use inserts in the same fabric as the seats, paired with blue textile and a small French flag. On the dashboard, the vertical cross strip has an anodised metal finish and a backlit panel with the words “Roland Garros Paris”.

The tip of the special e-pop shifter is based on the grip of a tennis racket, with the Roland-Garros logo placed at the end like the butt cap of a racket. The centre console includes a clay-coloured wireless charging pad, while the floor mats, also in a clay shade, carry the R4 logo. Brushed aluminium door sills marked “Roland-Garros Paris” complete the interior, along with the Cross of Saint Andrew, a reference to the stadium’s architecture.

“Clay is subtly present in the terracotta accents, the tournament’s foundational surface and signature of its identity. Even the gestures become a tribute: the e-pop shifter gear lever tip, inspired by the grip of tennis rackets, turns driving into a direct reference to tennis. The lightweight, structured white technical knit fabric echoes performance attire. The blue stitching and finishes reinforce the idea of a sport that is both demanding and elegant, where technical mastery elevates style.”

Anyone wanting a closer look at the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car will be able to see a full reveal during the tournament through an augmented reality feature in the “hello reno” app for iOS and Android. The app lets users place the car on screen in different settings, such as a home, garden or garage, switch its colour or choose a standard roof, and view it from all angles, inside and out.

Renault and its 88% electrified fleet

As part of its wider focus on future mobility, Renault is supporting Roland-Garros in lowering its carbon footprint year by year. This is backed by a fleet of 188 E-Tech electric and E-Tech full hybrid vehicles. The 88% electrified fleet is led by Scenic E-Tech electric and Rafale hyper hybrid E-Tech 4×4 300 hp models. The Renault Espace full hybrid E-Tech 200 hp is also included, along with the Renault Twingo E-Tech electric, shown here for the first time, and the Renault 5 E-Tech electric Roland-Garros special series.
