The first chair made from 100% monomaterial recycled plastic, the Beluga chair is a newcomer in sustainable and eco-friendly design by the brand POLIMAIR, launching in February 2024. POLIMAIR is a furniture brand with a fresh design, uncompromising between style and sustainability.

The Beluga chair is the first chair in kit form made from 100% recycled plastic, having taken two years of development to perfect it. Apart from the sleek aesthetics, this is an innovation that could change our definition of what a truly durable piece of furniture is.

A furniture piece that truly lasts.

A furniture piece that truly lasts is a monomaterial piece, as without it, achieving complete recyclability is impossible. It is a kit piece, as it allows for the replacement of any damaged part while minimising CO2 emissions. But have you ever wondered why this wasn’t a thing before? POLIMAIR did too, so the founders took inspiration from a realisation that few acknowledge: plastic was invented to replace ivory in billiard balls.

There was a time when the idea of it being disposable was unthinkable, given its inherent durability. Ironically, this durability has become one of the greatest ecological challenges of this century. By creating high-quality furniture in kit form, POLIMAIR advocates for a return to our original relationship with plastic, a material made to last.

To achieve this, their furniture is designed according to four pillars that ensure the production of truly sustainable furniture:

  • 100% Recycled plastic
  • 100% Life guarantee
  • 100% Made in France
  • 100% Customizable

Plastic is an urgency like few others, however, the good news is that its biggest flaw in nature is also its greatest asset in the home: its durability.
