M²coffee & Sweet is A Cave-Inspired Cafe Combining Organic Elements and Modernity

M²coffee & Sweet has become a sanctuary for coffee and nature lovers around the world. Located in Jiaxing Xiuhu Scenic Area in Zhejiang Province, in Chin, M²coffee & Sweet brings a feeling of serenity and tenderness with its color palette and aesthetics. To bring these ideas to life, the lead designer of Dixia Architectural Design (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Liu Chao focused on creating a unique interior design with a focus on nature and a touch of modernity.

The design of this project aims to honour the strong natural atmosphere around the site and refine the natural elements and experiences around the site with a unified design approach. This is what the design team did by creating this picturesque place.

To extend the relationship between the arc-shaped building and the interior, rippling spiral strings are placed in the space. This makes the curved walls connect the structural columns of the site. Moreover, large-scale curved holes are opened on the curved walls, causing a feeling of exploring a cave when people can travel through it.

Following the curves into the inner boxes, the warm texture of the wood contrasts with the creamy white space outside. This gives a feeling of stepping into the depths of the jungle. Additionally, the natural elements also extend to the use of furniture. The installation in the space uses natural stone, wood and organic curves to further support the function of the interior design. It also adds another layer to the space that further supports the natural aesthetic. This whole blend of natural and modern creates a more flexible emotional link for customers through interior finish and furnishing.
