The Verpan showroom showcases a vibrant collection of living designs from the Danish designer Verner Panton. The showroom is located in a classic old property in central Copenhagen. As one of the first concrete buildings in Copenhagen, the space has an industrial look and feel to it.
The brand Verpan’s design universe is a colorful world with abundant play with color, material, and finish. The lighting was designed to assist the guest in entering the different moods in the space by creating islands that allowed each section to live in its own right.
In addition to the showroom, the space also functions as an office space. To ensure the best work environment, a daylight-mimicking system was added on the lower floors to make the space more pleasant.
A layer of dynamic lighting was added to emphasize the playful feel of the space. Behind the counter, light waves make the reflective wall sparkle and cast reflections onto the industrial concrete surfaces.
All lighting was selected based on optical performance and energy efficiency. High-performance fixtures ensure required lighting levels while keeping energy consumption at a minimum. Each technical lamp in the space is controlled through a wireless solution, so dimming was introduced to keep the space-efficient at best possible level.
Winner in Retails Lighting Design at the LIT Lighting Design Awards, the lighting scheme in the Verpan showroom demonstrates a masterful blend of functionality and aesthetics.
