The newly unveiled METTRIN Event Center, located at Tó-Hotel Bánk, Hungary, promises to be a landmark of modern architecture and cultural importance. Designed by Ferdinand and Ferdinand Architects, the cultural building is dedicated to celebrating culture in every way possible.
The METTRIN Event Center has received its name after its completion. While the designing team was working on it, it was referred to by several names such as the event hall and artistic centre. In fact, it is a privately financed cultural house focusing on culture in its noblest sense.
The client is a visionary and organizer of the Louis Armstrong International Jazz Festival in Bánk, which has been in existence for over 20 years and is currently in a Sleeping Beauty slumber.
As with most projects before achieving success, the team struggled. At first, they planned to cover the seats of the nearby water area, but they figured this was not possible. After that. the team drew a Festival Center on the neighbouring plot, but it fell through, swept away by unpredictable inflation.
The waterside location of the construction site emphasizes the event centre. The long-term plan is that nothing is built in front of it and the reflective effect of the water enhances its appearance when viewed from the opposite side of Lake Bánk. Therefore, a memorable house is suitable for the location.
While this project may not be in the city centre, it is the centre of culture. The quality of the environment should match the level of music resonating within the building.
The newly completed Bánki lakeside event hall is a modern creation, captivating visitors from first sight. The building stands on pillars by the lake, and the connection with nature becomes palpable at first glance. The openness of the lower level allows the event venue to be under the open sky, while the covered area ensures the smooth conduct of events, despite the whims of the weather.
The main hall has 280 seats and can be divided into two equal sections with soundproof mobile walls. Service facilities such as storage rooms, dressing rooms, and sanitary blocks are arranged on the hillside. Additionally, the roof shape of the building is unique and creative. It adds a distinctive and recognizable feature to the structure. The fan or butterfly shape is visually stunning and can be metaphorically interpreted, symbolizing architectural creativity and freedom, associated with freely soaring with the wings of jazz.
Organic elements suggest harmonious integration with the environment, while modern lines and shapes emphasize the progressiveness and durability of the building. The layout and design of the building ensure optimal space utilization while creating an ideal environment for any event with panoramic views.
The METTRIN Event Center not only captivates with its stunning lakeside design but also promises its visitors a unique experience. The building harmoniously intertwines its natural surroundings and modern facilities to set a new standard for event venues.
