Luxurious Rosewood Amsterdam officially debuted in the Netherlands, marking its arrival as the newest addition to the Rosewood Hotel Group portfolio.
Apart from being centrally located along the UNESCO World Heritage-recognised Amsterdam Canal Ring, this property stands out for its regal past, as it now sits on the site of the former Palace of Justice.
The grounds underwent a decade-long restoration, which involved reconstructing the building’s architectural elements and integrating contemporary features into the design while preserving its historical context.
The first of its kind, Rosewood Amsterdam is also the last new hotel development to be sanctioned within a distinguished landmark in the city.
In turn, the outcome is a lavish luxury hotel in the heart of Amsterdam that cements its place in refined hospitality while paying homage to its regal past. An ode to breathing new life into historic spaces.
“The opening of Rosewood Amsterdam marks a momentous occasion for our brand and a meaningful chapter in the story of this city. We are honored to give this historic landmark back to the people of Amsterdam – reimagined through the lens of purpose-led luxury.” – Radha Arora, President, Rosewood Hotel Group
The hotel features 134 guestrooms, all of which are characterised by warm and neutral hues that perfectly create the same sense of warmth and comfort as a thoughtfully designed home.
To truly elevate their luxury stay to the next level, guests have the option to stay in one of their five signature suites, offering sweeping views of the city’s emblematic canals and rooftops. These residential-style suites are amongst the largest and most distinct rooms of their kind in the hotel, with interiors inspired by traditional Dutch design and large windows that seamlessly invite the outside in.
No matter the room or suite, the goal really is to make guests feel at home, away from home.
Dutch Excellence Translated Through Design
One glance at the space and you’ll immediately notice how every detail pays tribute to Dutch craftsmanship.
Netherlands-based design studio, Studio Piet Boon, was personally handpicked by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and CTF Amsterdam B.V. to spearhead the design works for all of the property’s guestrooms, amenities, and public spaces.
From the bespoke furnishings crafted by local artisans to the curated artefacts subtly placed across the space, every inch of the interior showcases the city’s cultural richness and Rosewood’s signature A Sense of Place ® design philosophy.
As you explore deeper, another central feature not to miss is De Tuin, Rosewood Amsterdam’s inner courtyard garden designed by legendary Dutch landscape designer, Piet Oudolf. Bringing nature and the vibrancy of urban Amsterdam together, walking into De Tuin is like “stepping into a living painting”, brought to life by a vision of biodiversity and native flora all around.
“It’s more than a restored landmark; it is an invitation to immerse yourself in the heart of this extraordinary city and experience a new chapter of experiential hospitality.” – Thomas Harlander, Managing Director, Rosewood Amsterdam
A stay at the Rosewood Amsterdam would not be complete without experiencing its curated offerings.
Get a taste of the hotel’s collection of dining experiences: Eeuwen, the Rosewood Amsterdam’s signature restaurant helmed by Chef de Cuisine David Ordonez; Advocatuur, a sleek, contemporary bar named after the Dutch word for ‘legal practice’, that honours the building’s storied history; Provo, a speakeasy-style distillery discreetly located within Advocatuur; and The Court, a communal lobby lounge designed for shared experiences offering an excellent selection of local and international cuisine.
