Forget Gravity – PUMA and ROMBAUT Drop Season 2 with Silver Mesh Speedcats and Levitation Soles

The first time PUMA and ROMBAUT teamed up, the sneaker world stopped to look at the “Levitation” sole. It was a massive success that sold out almost immediately. Now, the two brands are back for Season 2, which marks the final chapter of their work together. This new collection moves the original design forward, focusing on the idea of transformation. It stays connected to the earth but feels like it is pulling toward the sky.

A new look for a racing icon

For this final drop, the design team looked to the PUMA Speedcat for inspiration. This classic racing shoe is known for its slim shape and quick look. ROMBAUT took those aerodynamic curves and added their own specific style to create three new versions. The result is a shoe that looks fast but feels futuristic. It connects the history of PUMA with the experimental spirit of ROMBAUT in a way that feels completely new.

Bubbles and technical mesh

The details on these shoes really lean into a retro-future aesthetic. Every pair features technical silver mesh and man-made leather that gives the upper a shiny, high-tech finish. The most noticeable part of the design is the ROMBAUT signature cell bubble detailing. These organic, fluid shapes wrap around the shoe, making it look like a living thing. This design choice highlights a specific vision where nature and technology exist in the same space without fighting each other.

Three colours for every mood

The collection offers three distinct looks to choose from. The White edition uses a classic gum sole paired with a soft suede toe. This version is all about the way different textures, the smooth man-made leather and the fuzzy suede, work together to create a clean, simple look.

The Black version takes a different path. It features brown distressed tooling on the sole that makes the shoe feel deeper and more raw. It has a grounded, intense energy that stands out from the lighter colours. Rounding out the trio is the Silver version, which emphasises the metallic mesh and the liquid look of the cell bubbles.

The feeling of levitation

The campaign for Season 2 focuses on a specific feeling: the lightness of being young and free. It’s about what happens when you let go of the weight of the world and just exist. In the photos and videos, people float through nature, caught in a moment between a dream and the real world. This shows that “Levitation” is more than just a name for a soul but also a way to feel unbound and worry-free while still staying connected to what matters.

In a world that often feels chaotic, this collection is a way to rise above the noise. It is a final statement from two brands that wanted to prove we can reclaim our freedom through design. These shoes encourage the wearer to float through the disorder and find their own sense of space.
