Crocs and Casio Made a Watch… for Your Foot

Casio’s G-SHOCK and Crocs have recently revealed their joint design project, combining elements from both brands in a limited-edition version of an internationally known design. The new product is a glow-in-the-dark version of Crocs’ Echo Wave clogpaired with a removable G-SHOCK watch module that can be worn on the wrist or added directly to the shoe.

The Echo Wave model, used here for the first time in a brand partnership, was updated with a custom marbled ankle strap inspired by G-SHOCK’s well-known focus on structural durability. The strap connects visually and conceptually to the modular watch case, which detaches from its wristband and can be fitted into the side of the clog using a built-in rivet system. This dual-wear concept allows the watch to be used either as a traditional wrist accessory or as part of the footwear, depending on preference or context.

The timepiece included in the release offers the same functionalities found in G-SHOCK’s common models, such as shock resistance, 200-metre water resistance, world time across 48 cities and 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, five daily alarms, and a dual LED light system. These features can be used anytime, whether the watch is worn on the wrist or attached to the shoe.

This collaboration shows a new, innovative way of thinking about wearable accessories by placing the watch in a spot no one thought possible without changing its functionality. Rather than adding a simple decorative element, what makes this product special is precisely the fact that the timepiece remains usable.

This project marks the first time G-SHOCK has developed a wearable watch designed specifically to be worn outside of the wrist, and it is also the first time Crocs has introduced the Echo Wave silhouette in a glow-in-the-dark finish. This shows the brands’ mutual interest in hybrid objects, but now the only question remains: How will users choose to adapt the new product to their personal styles?
