Polybion and Natural Urbano have just announced the release of Cenit, the collaboration’s second collection exploring the use of Celium Manto in contemporary lighting design.
Following the release of Lapso, a sculptural lighting piece that turned eyes and fuelled conversations internationally, Cenit introduces a new direction for the collaboration: a warmer, more versatile lighting series designed for residential, studio and hospitality interiors.
Celium as a material
Cenit is made with a natural ash structure and translucent material called Celium, Polybion’s cultivated cellulose material grown by feeding bacteria with agricultural fruit waste. Available as a pendant, a table lamp and wall-mounted sconces, the series transforms light into a horizontal, atmospheric glow inspired by golden horizons and the linear visual aesthetic of the 1970s.

For Polybion, Cenit represents an important step in the application of Celium beyond fashion and into everyday interior objects. The collection highlights the material’s ability to filter light while preserving its natural variation, making each lamp subtly unique.
