Characterised by a human-centric approach and intuitive innovation, Allsteel’s Levra performance chair is adapted to the needs of modern workers. A standard performance seating was developed in partnership with ITO Design.

Adapted to modern working environments
For decades, office seating has adhered to a fixed one-person, one-desk layout. Working patterns have become increasingly flexible over time, allowing people to move freely and focus differently depending on the task. LevTech™, the intelligent support system, is at the heart of the new design. The chair features an innovative, patent-pending structural knit back and advanced weight-activated response. To ensure simple and natural use in everyday work, the controls are positioned for easy reach and intuitive use.

“Work has changed dramatically over the last two decades, but many of the assumptions behind task seating have stayed the same. With Levra, we wanted to create a chair that feels more natural to use and better supports how people actually work throughout the day.”
Jason Heredia, Vice President of Marketing at Allsteel

The suspended back softens the hard visual and physical edges of traditional chairs. The integrated lumbar support ensures comfort without restricting motion. Patent-pending 4D arms offer 180-degree rotation and fluid adjustments, supporting users across various work styles and postures.

Allsteel and ITO Design collaboration
ITO Design, a collaborative partner on the project, played an important role in Levra design. Having been engaged from the earliest stages of development, ITO Design contributed to both the chair’s performance ambitions and the product’s elegant aesthetic presence. As a team, Allsteel and ITO Design spent years prototyping to produce an office chair that creates a balance between technical innovation and human-centric functionality.

“One of the key goals was to create a chair that accomplishes a great deal through its engineering without appearing overly technical. Levra brings together freedom of movement, intuitive support, and a quieter design language in a way that feels immediate and natural for the user.”
Christopher Schmidt, on behalf of the ITO Design team

Eco-friendly manufacturing process
The outstanding performance characteristics of the Levra chair are complemented by an understated visual language marked by architectural restraint and material intention. The curated monochromatic palette enhances its luxurious silhouette, making it a perfect fit for forward-thinking interior designs.
Levra complements the visual rigour of architectural spaces, allowing architects and designers to seamlessly work together. The manufacturer has taken on an eco-friendly approach by opting for a zero-waste knitting process, carbon transparency and offset-backed neutrality. A Red List Approved Declare Label ensures that Levra’s ingredients don’t pose serious risks to human health and the environment.

Developed by Allsteel in collaboration with ITO, the Levra chair offers a more intuitive approach to movement, comfort and adjustment. LevTech intelligent support offers weightless comfort while a sustainable design ensures a product that’s safe for both users and the environment as a whole.
