The lightest sports shoe ever, Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3, weighs an average of just 97 grams. Specialised in long-distance races, the shoe is the result of three years of cutting-edge research. Apart from being 30% lighter than other sports shoes from the series, Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 also delivers 11% greater forefoot energy return.
“We went through more than a dozen iterations, working closely with our athletes and testing everywhere from our labs in Herzogenaurach to high-altitude camps in Kenya and Ethiopia. At that level, every detail really matters – we were measuring things down to the nearest nanogram.”
Stephan Scholten, VP Product, adidas

Innovative foam and strategically placed Continental rubber
Adizero Adios Pro Evo is made for long runs and record-breaking performance. The first adidas race shoes, which weigh under 100 grams, set a new benchmark for competitive running. But its surprising weight isn’t the only innovation Evo 3 brings to the table. The shoe is made of innovative Lightstrike Pro Evo foam. With a 39mm stack, the company’s most responsive foam yet, provides exceptional cushioning and energy return with 50% less weight than previous models.

The upper and precision detailing are intentionally stripped back. Taking inspiration from kitesurfing sail technology, the upper layer is designed for precise support with a notion of weightlessness. The designers ensured that even the smallest components, from laces to stitching, are as light as possible to provide advantages to their wearers. The carefully placed Continental rubber at the forefoot provides reliable traction at high speed.

Adidas Adizero Franchise
The Adidas Adizero franchise, established in 2020, has helped athletes win over 200 races and counting, breaking world records a whopping 24 times. Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 is the direct successor to its record-breaking precursor, Evo 2. The Evo 3 comes in a simple black and white colour palette with just a touch of red. The white finish is disrupted by three black stripes and a heel outsole, which features a mirror showcasing the Energy rim.

Setting new standards for long-distance running
The adidas athletes in London were the first to try out the Evo 3 model that is set to become the standard for the company’s runners in the future. The latest racing kit is centred around Techfit+ and Climacool+ innovations. The runners can pick between two options:
- a two-piece outfit containing shorts and a singlet
- and a Techfit+ endurance suit (an integrated system designed for improved airflow and targeted support). The tests show that the suit can improve the running speed by up to 1%.
Ethiopian long-distance runner Yomif Kejelcha and his Kenyan counterpart Amos Kipruto will compete in the endurance suits, while athletes Sebastian Sawe and Tigist Assefa are expected to wear the shorts and singlet.

Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 was launched on April 23, 2026, at a price of $500/€. Although designed with professional athletes in mind, the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 is set to enhance performance for casual runners as well.
