HELLO WOOD Design & Build studio has announced a major milestone in its career – a 2500 m2 project, Remise Rosa. Once an abandoned railway site, Remise Rosa has been turned into an open-air oasis spanning three levels. Urban garden, a neighbourhood hub, and a mini-vacation spot, Remise Rosa features a mixture of both indoor and outdoor spaces that can be used year-round. The complex hosts a restaurant, a beer garden, as well as entertainment and relaxation areas.

From temporary installation to permanent design
The project was conceived at the architectural summer school as a temporary installation, but was later turned into a permanent fixture. HELLO WOOD employed its philosophy of experimental design language developed through years of educational camps and temporary pop-up architecture pieces. The result is a playful and very photogenic environment that proves that HELLO WOOD’s signature design language can be used for permanent urban destinations.

“People feel special when they enter Remise Rosa; it’s a space designed to bring out their inner child. The project proves that visionary architecture can inspire, strengthen community, and also be good for business.”
Balázs Szelecsényi, Lead Architect.

Prefabricated CLT and a quiet assembly process
The structure of Remise Rosa is made from Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), a material selected for its renewability and durability. Every piece of the design was produced with millimetre precision through advanced CNC-based prefabrication. As all construction elements were prefabricated before arriving at the site, the entire complex was built swiftly in just 5 months. The assembly process was fast and predictable and also surprisingly quiet, ensuring peace in a quiet Zurich neighbourhood.

“Zurich and Switzerland have been key locations for us for years. We are very proud of the reputation we’ve built here; Remise Rosa is the culmination of our journey in the market, showing what is possible when timber architecture meets a truly visionary business goal.”
says András Huszár, CEO of HELLO WOOD.

HELLO WOOD’s Design & Build business model
HELLO WOOD has worked in Zurich since 2019. Over the years, the company designed memorable venues such as Urban Surf, Fraulein Holle and June & Julie. These designs are rooted in the company’s Design & Build business model, which ensures all-in-one management that starts with the initial concept and ends with on-site construction. This process allows HELLO WOOD to remain on budget and schedule while delivering a precise and innovative architectural piece.

As a permanent structure in the heart of Zurich, Remise Rosa is a market-driven, yet compelling architectural design. The project showcases CLT’s capability of delivering permanent, architecturally meaningful structures while enabling rapid and affordable construction.
