New features and returning events

The biennial exhibit, EuroCucina with FTK – Technology For the Kitchen, will make a comeback this year with 106 brands from 17 countries. The International Bathroom Exhibition will also be on view, gathering 163 brands from 14 countries. The SalonSatellite exhibition dedicated to designers under 35 will also host 23 international schools and universities thus fostering connections that surpass age, brands, and continents. The theme of the 27th edition of SalonSatellite is Maestria artigiana + Innovazione (Skilled Craftsmanship + Innovation), asking the participants to rediscover craftsmanship as a bridge between manual work and technological vision. It’s a collective call to reimagine “handmade” not just as a design preference but also a cultural and political act.

Salone Raritas

An increasingly integrated architecture of content and exhibition itineraries will be a common theme running throughout the edition. The Salone has announced a new venture led by David Gianotten and Rem Koolhaas. Named Salone Contract, the event will deal with the changing ecosystem, starting from context interpretation to visitor experience, B2B networking, and integrated supplies. Another new feature, Salone Raritas, will create a new platform that will gather 25 exhibitors showcasing curated icons, unique objects, and outsider artworks. Located in the Pavilions 9, 10, and 11, the Salone Raritas will be curated by Salone del Mobile’s Editorial Director and Cultural Events Advisor Annalisa Rosso, while Formafantasma will be in charge of the exhibition design. The cultural program will include public platform Drafting Futures. Conversations about Next Perspectives, for discussions about innovation, sustainability and market trends.

An Immersive Installation and a Communication Campaign

The visitors will have the opportunity to see an immersive installation, Aurea, an Architectural Fiction, at the A Luxury Way segment in the Pavilions 13-15. Designed by the French studio Maison Numéro 20, the immersive artwork represents an imaginary hotel that transforms interior design into scenography, amplifying the sensory and emotional dimension of living. Visitors will go thought several rooms that will merge into a dreamlike environment – from a winter garden, smoking and dining rooms to the intimate library with a fireplace.

A Matter of Salone communication campaign will reflect on the meaning of design through exploration of matter. A more intuitive wayfinding system will help guests move around the hall, making the event easier to understand and explore. Sustainability will be in focus, as the Salone centres on the transition toward systemic and circular design. The focus on sustainability is further enhanced by the renewal of ISO 20121 sustainability certification for the following three years.
