An unpredictable nature demands resilient architecture that withstands harsh conditions and emergencies. The DA House in Poland’s Brodnica Landscape Park is exactly that, a modular wooden home engineered to resist floods and seismic shocks while maintaining high standards of sustainability and comfort.
Designed by DOM ARCHITEKTÓW, with Walenty Durka Emilia Durka-Zielińskathis as Lead Architects, this modular home was created for extreme resilience. Built on mobile steel foundations, the DA House can be relocated if needed, which, in a climate like today’s, is a priceless feature.

The innovative 3D module technology allows the structure to adapt to rugged terrain without relying on steel reinforcements or vapour barriers. All construction chemicals are eliminated in favour of certified, sustainable materials that protect both the environment and the residents.
Inside, the DA House continues its focus on safety and sustainability. Passive technologies, including over 45 cm of insulation, heat pump systems, and recuperation devices, keep energy consumption at a minimum. Photovoltaic panels provide the potential for complete energy self-sufficiency, while the absence of combustion and chimneys ensures clean indoor air. Water-saving features and careful attention to microclimate make the house healthy and comfortable year-round.

The expansive windows let in plenty of light, making this resilient structure a warm and inviting space. Despite its technical sophistication, the home breathes warmth and elegance.
Wooden interiors create a natural, inviting atmosphere, while the design reflects timeless architectural principles, emphasising simplicity, proportion, and harmony with the surrounding Brodnica Landscape Park. The result is a building that balances high performance with aesthetic quality, ecological responsibility, and practical functionality.
Design and Resilience
DA House represents a holistic approach to modular architecture, integrating environmental concerns, human health, and extreme resilience into every decision from start to finish.

By combining natural materials, advanced prefab methods, and mobile foundations, this home is prepared for both everyday living and extraordinary challenges such as floods or earthquakes.
