Porsche x Smeg Unveil Limited-Edition Kitchen Appliances Blending Iconic Design and High-Performance Engineering

When two legendary brands collide, only good things happen. Luxury car manufacturer Porsche joins forces with Smeg, a domestic appliances maker, to create a series of limited edition pieces. Although in different fields, both manufacturers share many common traits, from their precision and undisputed design quality to the extensive heritage that shapes the essence of both brands.

The 917 Salzburg Collection accentuates the form, function, and sentimental power of Smeg’s iconic design and Porsche’s extensive motorsport legacy. The fridge and coffee machine are all individually numbered and painted in the striking red colour mimicking the 1970 Le Mans Winner’s Salzburg Livery tone. Apart from the fridge and coffee maker, the limited edition collection contains 1,970 limited-edition toasters, kettles, and blenders.

Probably the most exclusive fridge ever made, Fridge 917 Salzburg, honours the iconic Le Mans win of the Porsche 917 KH Salzburg car driven by Richard Attwood and Hans Herrmann. Apart from the car’s iconic colour named 917 Salzburg Red, the fridge also features recognisable Porsche stripes as well as the number 23, the starting number of the winning auto. Matte black handle and Smeg logo add character to the design, while darker finishes are also visible in the interior. All 1,970 limited-edition fridges are individually numbered. The other fridge in the collection mirrors the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The combined 270L refrigerator with a 26L freezer is painted in Shade Green Metallic and Carrara White Metallic tones, with Porsche stripes across the doors and sides.

Just like the Fridge 917 Salzburg, the coffee machine also celebrated the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. The fiery red dominates the design with an iconic number 23 above the Porsche lettering on the side. Black matte accents also appear, extending from the front panel to the dip tray and steam wand. Don’t be fooled by its small size – the bean-to-cup coffee machine 917 Salzburg includes a powerful built-in coffee grinder that turns coffee beans into a delicious beverage.
