Tucked in the heart of Gozo, Tuta Agrotourism is a serene retreat where visitors can reconnect with nature and step into a rich history that is still alive through its practices and food. Located in the picturesque village of Kercem, this farm stay is a gateway to experiencing the essence of Gozitan life, beautifully captured through its architecture and surroundings.

Architecture inspired by tradition and nature

Designed by Carlo Schembri &bold., the architecture of Tuta Agrotourism is rooted in the island’s past while offering the comforts of modern living. The design process was driven by a commitment to authenticity and respect for the land, ensuring the facility blends naturally with Gozo’s sun-drenched landscapes.

The use of traditional limestone, a defining feature of Gozo’s architecture, makes the buildings feel like a part of the land, while the interiors combine rustic charm with designer elegance. Each room offers a unique experience, with spaces that transport guests to the heart of farm life while providing modern luxuries, including private jacuzzis and stunning views of the surrounding fields and hills.

One of the design’s standout features is the hand-painted mural in the Sunset Sonata restaurant. Inspired by the island’s native flora, the mural envelops diners in the area’s natural beauty, complementing the breathtaking views of the Gozitan landscape. The restaurant, set on a 14-hectare estate, is surrounded by olive groves, almond trees, and carob fields, creating the perfect setting for enjoying traditional Gozitan dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.

A taste of Gozo’s past and present

The team behind Tuta Agritourism, led by Jochen Tabone and supported by his family, brings the land to life. Jochen manages the daily farm operations, ensuring guests get a hands-on experience of traditional farming practices, from fruit picking to tending animals. Together with his team, including culinary expert Stephan Tabone, they offer farm-to-table meals that capture the rich flavors of Gozo. Visitors can savor dishes made from fresh, seasonal produce, some of which are grown on-site, and enjoy local specialties like rabbit stew and bragioli.

A place to disconnect and explore

Beyond the accommodation, Tuta Agritourism invites guests to immerse themselves in Gozo’s natural beauty. The surrounding hills, valleys, and groves are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts exploring hidden historical sites or simply relaxing in the shade of ancient trees. The lush greenery and the fragrant scents of the farm provide a tranquil atmosphere for those seeking peace and quiet away from the bustle of everyday life.

The facility blends modern comfort and rustic charm, complete with a pool area and ample space for guests to unwind. The commitment to sustainability is evident in adding a Water reservoir and Water treatment plant room, highlighting the importance of eco-conscious practices.
