VAAST Bikes has designed an aero-inspired Super Magnesium Road bike (VAAST R/1). The design is fast, strong, and resilient while simultaneously more sustainable than other bikes in the category.
The Allite Super Magnesium frame weighs only 1250 grams and is crafted with progressive geometry that results in a perfect fit for every rider. Utilizing VAAST’s V-Fit parameters for comfort and control, the head and seat tube angles are chosen to place the rider in a comfortable position and ensure a proper trail for neutral steering geometry.
Being lighter, stronger, and stiffer than aluminum, the R/1’s frame has excellent shock absorption properties, electromagnetic shielding performance, and heat dissipation.
Before painting, R/1 frames are treated with a Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation coating. It produces a dense finish that provides corrosion protection, wear resistance, stain tolerance, improved hardness, and a better bonding surface for durable colors.
The V-Fit parameters on the R/1 also do more than just fit your body type and size. They create an improved posture that results in a more confident approach. Combining V-Fit with the Super Magnesium frame delivers a remarkably comfortable fit and feel.
Magnesium is considered the most eco-friendly and sustainable metal in the world. It is 100% recyclable and dissolves naturally. This makes R/1 a sustainable masterpiece of design. Additionally, magnesium also requires less energy to be shaped and machinery in comparison to other metals. It allowed VAAST Bikes to fulfil their commitment to designing better-performing, more accessible, and sustainable bikes.
To further support the sustainable aspect of the sphere, VAAST has become the first bike brand to use 100% fiber-based, plastic-free packaging.

Every bike is produced in sizes XS (49cm), S (52cm), M (54cm), L 56cm), XL (58cm), and XXL (60cm) with a frame weight of just 1250g.
VAAST R/1 has won the FIT Sport Design Award in the Sport Equipment Design category with a focus on sustainability.
