Recently Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) unveiled the PlayStation Portal™ Remote Player, which is a feature designed exclusively for PS5 console users. This innovation promises to cross traditional gaming boundaries by offering players extreme flexibility and access to their favourite games on a new level.
The new device allows players to stream and play their console games on compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Moreover, the technology enables gamers to enjoy their favourite titles anywhere, anytime without being stuck to their console.
The Remote Player functionality leverages Sony’s infrastructure to deliver an unforgettable gaming experience. Via secure connections, players would have the chance to access their entire library of PS5® games.
Key features of the PlayStation Portal ™ Remote Player include:
- One can play games compatible with PS5® which also include games made for PS4® and PS5®.
- The device offers DualSense® wireless controller features such as responsive vibrations that react to one’s in-game choices and simulate factors. Additionally, there is a dynamic resistance mimicking the tension of interactions with in-game gear and objects in certain PS5 games;
- 8” LCD screen;
- 60fps capable at 1080p resolution.
However, it is important to note that the PlayStation Portal will rely highly on Wi-Fi performance and once the Internet crashes or there is poor connectivity, one may experience issues.
